Piano
Studied Piano since age seven under Walter Fox Studio in Germany
and in Laguna Beach California to the Advanced Level up to
and including working on Beethoven's Pathetique Symphony.
Classical Repertoire
includes works of Beethoven, Mozart, Schumann, Schubert, Chopin, Grieg
and Bach. Composed and performed a number of her own Recordings in Southern
California. The family loved classical music and were listening
to Concerts daily.
I also sang with the Music when traveling in the car and developed
ear-& voice training.
Accordion
Transferred knowledge from classical Piano, to Folk Accordion.
Performed as part of several ensembles at various Stages on the West
Coast.
Directed and worked Public Relations for Folk Voice Band for four years
and performed as lead Accordionist. Folk Voice Band also toured with a
Finnish Dance Performance Troup to Roots in Finland 1992 and has toured
various countries throughout Europe. The Band's repertoire ranges from
Scandinavian to Balkan and Continental Traditional Music. Most recently I
ran the accordion stage at Folklife Festival here in Seattle the last 2 years
and have promoted and helped sponsor various groups from Finland and Germany.
Music Theory
Studied Music Theory at Orange Coast College under Dr Smith.
Held several Music Theory Workshops and teaches Music Theory privately.
Most recently in the process of earning a diploma with Dr Elisabeth
Caspari
who worked directly under Prof Maria Montessori, to teach the Montessori Method of Music.
Musical Goals
My musical goals are to make music fun and enjoyable for both participant
and listener. I would like to explore the healing power of music and
work more with children who have learning and emotional challenges.
I don't believe in Age barriers and think that Music can be fun to learn
at all age levels. I will work with various ability levels to make
music a fun an enjoyable experience.
